Jazz v. Spurs

So Nate's friend Kyle had tickets to the Jazz game last night that he couldn't use ... so we lucked into some tickets to a great game! It was so much fun, and a great night out!!

Well, I'm guilty in cheering for the Spurs! They ended up winning, so I was happy! Here's Tony Parker ... even though he's a baby on the court -- it was still a lot of fun to watch him and Tim Duncan play!!

So it was kind of a fun night to watch the Jazz because it was their mascot's birthday (funny huh!) but they had mascots from several other professional teams there and they were an absolute BLAST to watch! I can't believe how athletic these guys are, especially in costumes!

During half time they all would line up and jump off these trampolines ... do flips and dunk the basketball ... pretty neat!

All in all, it was a great night! We need to have date nights more often!

What happens when Daddy.s in Charge ...

Well, for those of you who know me very well ... you know I'm kind of a bit protective of what I let Jackobi eat. And CHOCOLATE is NOT on the list of things that I've let her have yet ... that is until Daddy was in charge! The other night while was getting my weekly 'The Bachelor' fix (yes, I know ... but I'm hooked!) Nate took Jack.s upstairs to hang out with him. He said she was being SO GOOD (he obviously wasn't paying very good attention ...) Well, she had managed to get a mini KIT KAT opened up and ate HALF of it! So I guess chocolate is no longer on the list of things that this protective mother denies her daughter ... She really liked (can you blame her?) it and clung to it pretty tightly.

You can tell in this picture she's trying to figure out what the sweet treat was! She's not quite sure if she's 'allowed' to have it!

It's official! She's a chocolate lover!!

Minico Basketball

For the past few months we have really enjoyed watching Casey play basketball!! Jackobi is really good during the games and has learned that she loves the excitement of the game, but more than anything ... she loves the band! Who knew! She also likes to watch the cheerleaders and clap along. It's pretty fun! Here are some pictures we took at the last game against Pocatello.

Jackobi and Nate in their Tar Heel attire ... I'm pretty sure Jackobi knows we're watching her Uncle Casey ... when Nate or I point down to him and tell her to watch her Uncle she gets excited and watched for a little while. But then her attention is drawn to the band (see picture below)

This is the reaction we get when the band starts ... it's followed by dancing and claping! It's too funny! It looks like she's the little band conductor in this one!

There is still a lot of the season left so it'll be nice to watch some more games. I'm so happy that we live so close that we're able to be so involved in our families lives!

Play Date with Anna Leigh!

Jackobi and Anna play so well together! We get together about once a week, but it's been awhile since I've taken any pictures ... so here are some from today at Grandma's house!

Jackobi is checking out some new literature at Grandma's house ... most of the time she holds her books upside down, but she managed to get it right this time!

I don't know what it is about hats on babies, but it's so darn cute! Here's Anna Leigh in daddy's hat. She poses MUCH better than Jackobi does when I want her to!

All in all, fun play date! I love that our girls have so much fun playing together!

Good Luck Braxton

My cousin Braxton broke his ankle really bad at the beginning of the school year and was just cleared to wrestle and 'resume normal activity' ... he's getting a late start on the wrestling season, but doing really well! We went to a match against Blackfoot last week; although they didn't have anyone in his weight class, he wrestled another Minico wrestler in Exhibition and pinned him! Not bad for having metal rods and screws in your leg, eh? Nice job Braxton!

Accessorizing ...

When Camille was down over the holidays she showed Jackobi the importance of accessorizing with every outfit! If Jackobi loves jewelry half as much as she already loves shoes, we're going to really have our hands full!

11Months Old!!

Wow! 11 months, I can't believe Jackobi is going to be a year old soon!! This past Saturday she hit the 11 month mark! Let's see ... right now she weights in at a whopping 23 pounds! She's getting pretty heavy to carry around! She has SEVEN teeth; 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. She's done pretty good getting her teeth, but I can tell they're still coming down and she's a bit crabby. Jackobi pulls herself up to just about everything and will walk pretty quickly next to objects. She's gotten brave this last week and will go from object to object (the couch and then reach for the chair and move right along to the love seat). I think she'll be walking on her own soon!! She has really good balance and will stand by herself and clap and 'dance' ... she's also learned how to push herself up from the ground and stand on her own. She's a champ at waving goodbye and has even started to wave at her dogs when she sees them out the window. Jackobi loves to eat whatever is on our plates and refuses to eat baby food anymore. She's a really good eater! Cheese and banana are her favorite 'real' food. But she is just like her daddy and LOVES popcorn. That's how we get her through many basketball games! Jackobi still loves music and is so cute when she dances to it. Her favorite toys are usually her books or her stuffed Tigger. She loves her new peek-a-boo book she got for Christmas and will let you read it to her over and over and OVER!! I'm pretty convinced that she says mama, daddy and doggy, but hasn't gotten them down quite yet.

Weekend Recap!

We had a really busy weekend and it flew by!! We started out by traveling to Rigby on Friday night to watch Casey's basketball game. I'm so glad that we are able to go and watch him play so much! The game wasn't the best and the officials were awful. Minico ended up loosing, but I'm still glad we were able to go and show our support!! They have a big week this week with Twin Falls and Pocatello games so hopefully they can bounce back!

Saturday my friend Sara was down visiting; she lives in Boise and it's such a treat when her and her daughter Emaiya come to visit!

With our awful snow storms over Christmas I didn't get to see Sara over the holiday so we let our girls open their belated Christmas gifts! Emaiya was so excited that she couldn't wait for me to get my camera. She's learned the beauty of gifts!! Jackobi hasn't quite figured it all out, so Mya helped her out ... these girls are too cute! Jackobi gets so excited with Mya around. I love it!

It was so good to see Sara and Mya! I'm so lucky to have such a great friend! I can't wait until they come again!

After my visit with Sara, Nate, Jared and Ashley met up with me in Twin and we went to Jakers for dinner! It was so good! Jackobi needs to work on her restaurant manners a little (I'm sure once she understands more we can teach her) she was a little grouchy, but it was still great! All in all, busy but great weekend!

Climbing the Stairs

Well, we knew the day would come when Jackobi would decide the venture to the other side of the house and stairs would be great fun and that day has come!! The past week or so she's been pretty fascinated, but we've managed to help her steer clear of going upstairs. But tonight after bathtime she was NOT tired at all and decided to try again. With Nate's watchful eye she climbed the ENTIRE staircase and made it to the bonus room! Here's a picture from the bottom of the stairs, quite a ways for a baby! She was pretty quick and so proud when she made it up there. Look at that grin! Hopefully we'll get it out of her system!

Bowling with the Fam ...

So it's become a yearly tradition for my mom's side of the family to all go bowling the weekend after New Years. Since she has so many siblings, it's hard to get everyone together during Christmas, so this is the next best thing AND since the bowling alley is pretty much the only thing in Burley/Rupert ... bowling it is!! Jackobi had fun watching the pins crash down and playing with the bright bowling balls! Here's some of our pix from today!

I also forgot to post some pix from when my sis was down and we went bowling ... let me tell you what! We are 'Bowling Betties!' haha ...
it was lots of fun to go out and just have fun with them ... Sara doesn't come home that often, so it's great when she does! My 'adopted' sister Sara came down from Boise to hang out too ... it was such a great night!

GoNzaGa GaMe & HaPpY nEw YeaR

Nate's family are HUGE Gonzaga Bulldog fans so this year for Christmas, his parents got us all tickets to the Gonzaga v. Utah game on New Years Eve. We were all really excited!

It was a good game, if you're a Utah fan ... the Bulldogs 'didn't show up the first half' as Nate would put it. You could tell they didn't put much effort forth the first 1/2. The second half was more interesting and a great game! The Bulldogs ended up loosing it after missing a shot at the buzzer ...

Here's the much disappointed fans after the loss ... as you'll notice Bubba covered up his Zags shirt pretty quick! :) There was A LOT of Christiansen 'after game analysis' in the car on the ride to the hotel!
Jackobi was really good at the game and loved to clap along with the band, but when it was all over ... she was EXAUSTED!! She didn't even wake up when I pulled her out of her car seat when we got to the hotel! But ... she did sleep AWESOME, which I appreciated!

We had a great time @ the basketball game and it was nice to have a night out! Here's Nate and I ringing in the New Year in our hotel room (looks like an exciting time, huh?) 2008 was a great year and we're so excited to see what 2009 will bring!!
