[and so it begins ...]

They staked a sign in front of our house today. Honestly, when I saw the listing online late last night, it made me loose my breath for a minute ... so sad to sell our FIRST home together, but excited for what the future has in store for us!

For curious minds, here's a link to our home.
Don't mind my MESSY closet ... a little embarrassed! I didn't think they'd take a picture of it!!! They should have taken the pict of Nate's side ... for some reason I can keep his much more tidy!!!

Rainy Days

The past few days have been rainy and cold here.
And where it has left our lawn & trees looking rather lovely
it's been a challenge to keep Jackobi happily occupied,
get her energy out & not totally destroy our house.
As had I, she had become used to the warm sunshine days.
Brisk morning walks had become our ritual.
Today, she picked out a a perfectly lovely summer dress.
Bright colors & flowers, she was ready for a warm day,
but was greeted with gray clouds and rain mixed with snow.

We've baked cookies, had indoor picnics, tea parties galore
and snuggled up in blankets reading books in our homemade tent.
What a good couple of days ... I've come to the conclusion,
I like rainy days like these!

[as long as they're few and far between!!]

I'm not sure what it is, but I think it is ingrained in little girl's DNA to have a deep love for Princesses ... this rings VERY true for Jackobi. She loves princesses and knows each of the Disney Princesses by name (not that she's even seen 1/2 of the movies!)

Her little Cinderella dress-up dress was the apple of her eye this weekend!! She wore it for 2 solid hours & loved it. We read Princess books, had a tea party & twirled in circles to see her pretty dress flow. What a fun afternoon!!

I must admit, I never thought having a little girl would be THIS much fun! I love having a girly girl and all that comes with it! (even the dramatic moments! :) )

The Future is So Bright ...

Ya gotta wear shades!!

We had Anna over to play & the girls had so much fun!
I told Jackobi I wanted to take their picture and she INSISTED they wear sunglasses. Too funny! They think they look pretty cool in their sunglasses. Jackobi will say "Hey Dude" and give a little head nod ... oh boy!

Running Circles in Delight!

At the baseball games this weekend Jackobi was so silly! We went out to the grassy area between fields & she ran around in circles blissfully for quite awhile! Oh the shear joy of being outside! Fresh air & lots of sunshine!! We're loving this warm weather!! Hopefully it's here to stay!!

It's Party Time!!

Little Anna turned the big TWO this past Friday!!

This sweet girl & Jackobi are best buds ... and partner's in crime for that matter!! I can't imagine Jackobi growing up without her sweet cousin by her side. Oh the fun they'll have together!

Today we had a little party to celebrate.
The day outside was beautiful, perfect for her to ride her new little bike, swing & color with sidewalk chalk. Such a fun day!

Happy Birthday Anna!
We love you!!

Sunshine and Sand Castles

The majority of our day today, consisted of this!

Oh sweet sunshine!!!

Today was an absolutely GORGEOUS day outside and Jackobi and I didn't want to waste one minute of it!! We were outside the majority of the day and spent a good couple of hours digging in the dirt & making sand castles (which honestly looked more like piles of dirt ... guess we'll need to work on that!!!)

So much fun! I was honestly a little surprised what a hit this was with my little girl who hates to get dirty! She did panic a little when her shoes got too much dirt on them, but when she realized it swept right off, life was good again!

I hope warm weather is here to stay & we can have many more days like today!

The View

The other day it was actually warm enough (well, sort of) to take Jackobi outside for a little walk ... so we packed up the stroller & headed out ... isn't the view awesome?? I was quickly reminded why I love Idaho, and why I love living where we do. [even when Spring doesn't come quite as swiftly as I'd like.] It did make me desperately want to pack up and go on an
adventure
(<-- click there)... guess we'll see which direction our summer takes us! {wouldn't one of those spots be pretty fantastic???}

Finally happy to have a reason to rock her new shades ... :)

..red laundry..

After 1/2 a season of baseball ... I officially DO NOT like red laundry!! Loads of reds have been occuring quite often, definitely more often than I like!

I guess it could be much worse, I could be scrubbing grass stains out of baseball pants!! [nate, if you're reading this, DO NOT bring me grass stained pants!!]

Maybe one day soon it will actually be warm enough for Jackobi and I to go out and enjoy a game! One could only hope!!

The Brains of the Family

Doesn't Jackobi look quite intelligent [and cute!] in her Aunt Camille's glasses??

[l.o.v.e.]

"Love is like the Polar Star. In a changing world, it is a constant. It is of the very essence of the gospel. It is the security of the home. It is the safeguard of community life. It is a beacon of hope in a world of distress." --Gordon B. Hinkley

We are so blessed to have an amazing family and wonderful friends to surround ourselves with.

Blessed even beyond our comprehension.

LOVED this love quote ...

Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
We hope you had a blessed day!

A Week of Easter Festivities!!

We had a busy week getting ready to celebrate and learning all about Easter!! Jackobi is at such a fun & curious age. She willing to try just about anything and loves listening to stories and learning. Here's a peak of our week!!

Frosted Easter Cookies with Grandma ... YUM!!

Experienced Jell-O Jiggler Eggs!

Made Easter Baskets for her little friends ...

I think she ate more jelly beans than actually made it into the little eggs!!

Colored Easter Eggs with Kenzie and Ashley

Went hunting for Easter Eggs with friends ...

But mostly in the garage because of the SNOW and WIND!!
{thank you Idaho weather!!}

Met Mr. Easter Bunny

Decided we liked him pretty well :)

Learned about Jesus & the TRUE meaning of Easter.

I must admit, it was a little hard for us to simplify the story! She was very concerned with Jesus' "owies" ... but I think enjoyed hearing all about it!

We had a GREAT week getting ready for this wonderful holiday!
I can't wait to celebrate our Savior's resurrection tomorrow!
