After only a day Leighton was moved out of the CICU she got to be in her own private room. This gave us lots of privacy and time to get to know our little girl. The doctors and nurses were amazing at Primary Children's. We've already learned so much - about Leighton's heart, ourselves, our family. Everything about this experience has already been life changing. Our perspectives are altered and perhaps even our priorities adjusted. We've always tried to savor every moment with our children, but even more so now.
Love this sweet, sweet man! I just have to say I don't know what I would have done without Nate by my side this week. He is such an incredible husband and the most amazing dad. He was (and still is) a constant support. We are one lucky family to have him leading the way!
It was a really long week, emotional week. But after only 6 days Leighton was able to come home. That certainly was one very happy day. We're loving having our little family home and all together.
3 nice notes:

Congrats on your new baby! She is a doll and we hope things go well. Of course you look awesome, 6 days after giving birth, Kim!
I'm already emotional over your little girl with your current situation and then I saw this post for the first time. You are an example to me Kim - you are so strong. What a darling little angel to add to your already wonderful family.
