People say that a good routine, makes for a happy baby. Well, I used to be really fanatic about Jackobi's schedule, but as she's gotten older, not so much. Well, not at all really. Her bed time has gradually grown later and later and when Nate works nights, I let her sleep in my bed if she wants. Yep, that's right. I broke the cardinal rule of 'Don't let your kids sleep with you'.
Last night, as I was tossing Jackobi into my bed, she frantically rushed to my nightstand and found her little Bible. I love that she insists we read it each night before she goes to bed. After reading several little stories to her, it was time for bed. She then folded her little arms & looked up at me, as though she was telling me it was time to pray, so we did. As I turned the light off and watched my little girl clutch tightly to her 'Bi-bo' -- I realized, that through all of the chaos, to-do lists and non-routine days, I must be doing something right. With lots of prayers and hope, I must be doing something right to be entrusted with her sweet spirit. I'm so thankful to be her Mommy!
7 nice notes:
You are a wonderful mommy! She is so lucky to have you! Don't their sweet spirits just amaze you!! Oh and I break "the rule" too. No big deal right?!!!?
That is just sooo sweet. I have to step back sometimes and make sure that I don't get so caught up in things that are going on to see what sweet things my boys do. It's a learning process every single day.
What a sweet perfect little soul. Schedules are all and good for when you need them... but out the door they go when you realize how fast the little sweeties are growing. You'll remember snuggling in bed reading the "bi bo" not getting her to bed on time... I love it... that is what being a mom is all about.
I adore this picture.
love your blog.
You are such a good Mom!!!! That is so cute. It's amazing the little my kids do to make me live a little better!!! Kids are so funny!
Love the pic, she is a cutie! I have to let mine sleep with me sometimes cause I always think of the Billy Dean song "Let Them Be Little" and they do grow too fast!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post!! I am crying right now trying to type!! I say bag that "no kids in the bed" thing! When you're alone at night... there's nothing better than to have your sweet child laying next to you!!
Oh how precious is that! I too have tears in my eyes. That is so awesome that at such an early age she is initiating that routine. Cherish the moments!
